Larry Barron
Barron Hockey Academy Owner and Director

In 2008, his successes lead to the opening of Barron Hockey Academy training facility in Yorba Linda, California.  Offering on and off-ice development, clinics, Summer camps, and team training, Barron Hockey Academy has become one of the most unique all inclusive hockey development centers in Southern California.

Not only does the facility develop players on and off the ice, but also the continuous dedication and support with each player builds he/she mentally and physically.  The knowledge, atmosphere and culture at Barron Hockey Academy is what brings players back season after season, during and in between.  Players that return year after year range from Mites to Midgets, Prep School, Tier II, Junior A, NCAA DIV I and III, and Pro Hockey.

Larry’s reputation of being ‘one of the best in hockey development’ has given him the opportunity to train thousands of players throughout Southern California.  Larry’s constant support and dedication to his players has helped and continues to flourish many careers.  Larry has taught a number of California’s successful players, including past players that have moved on to flourishing hockey careers and present players.

In 2013, Larry was given the opportunity to be the skating consultant for the NHL Anaheim Ducks’ prospect camp.  The coaches, as well as players took a liking to Larry’s approach and he is currently flying back and forth to Norfolk, coaching the AHL Admirals.  From time to time, the Ducks will bring in Larry to work 1 on 1 with NHL level players.  Larry has fully embraced this opportunity and has taken his teaching to a whole new level!

The list below consists of past and present students of Larry Barron and Barron Hockey Academy, that have gone on to lead successful careers and some do continue to come back to Barron Hockey Academy for training.

For further information on who Larry has trained, please click here.

Larry’s uncanny ability to get the most out of every player he trains is what sets him apart from the rest.  From Mite to Pro, Larry’s ability to identify strengths and weakness and communicate them with his students is a key ingredient to his success.  It is known that it is very difficult to be able to train with Larry because his time and schedule are saturated with devoted clientele.

Another element of Larry’s successful program that has become routine for players in Southern California and surrounding states is his Summer Camps.  It is also known that these camps sell out year after year.  No where else in California will you experience the complete hockey package in one week, on and off the ice!

Larry Barron believes that a player’s skill level is neither stumbled upon nor handed down, but earned through diligent practice and a thorough understanding of the sport. His high-intensity, no-nonsense approach teaches players the way to success, which starts by stressing good attitude, discipline, and work ethic — both on and off the ice.

Larry is married to his beautiful wife Michelle and has three beautiful children; Dillon, Peyton and Brock.

Christopher Martin
Head Strength and Conditioning Trainer

Chris Martin received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State in 2005. He has been involved in hockey for over 18 years and is a CSCS (Conditioning and Strength Coaching Specialist) through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning.
Although, he has the knowledge and understanding of the body to work with any athlete, in 2008, he chose to follow his passion and focus on hockey. Since joining the team, he has become an integral part of the Barron Hockey Academy. Chris is actively involved in the training community, regularly attending lectures, hands on seminars and conferences across the country. His hard work and dedication to the industry, and the game, has made him one of the most sought after strength coaches in the area for hockey players of all ages and abilities.
Larry and Chris work very closely to develop players and to insure that all of the training needs are met. The list of players that Chris has trained at Barron Hockey Academy can be seen above in Larry’s biography.

Curran Klien
