Dynamic Edge Work

Dynamic edge training is a 30-minute, high-tempo session that will expose a player’s deficiencies through a series of unique drills that work on many of the following areas:

  • Body Control: Positioning and Balance
  • Weight Distribution: Inside and Outside Edges
  • First Three Step Acceleration
  • Understanding Wasted Energy i.e. when turning, pivoting, transitioning and in crossovers
  • Develop Acceleration through Transition
  • And so much more…

Larry works with players of all levels, from Mites to Pros and from several organizations. Players will be paired based on age and skill level during lessons.

Larry has established a reputation that has continued to allow him to work with players from across the nation that continue to come back and train.

“Larry has been working with my son Max for the past several years.  Larry worked with Max on his shooting and skating skills.  Larry’s intensity, ability to  break down each move and his enthusiasm, helped Max in earning a spot on the USA Select team this past summer.  Larry also teaches character, hard work and how to “get out of your comfort zone” to push yourself to a higher level.  I always said, “With Larry, he is worth every penny spent on the cost of his lesson and more.”  Max is away at school now, but he already requested to see Larry when he comes home for Christmas to work on the ice skating treadmill!”

“The on-ice training with Larry is awesome!  The skate is very high tempo and is full of working on your technique to be an efficient skater.  Larry taught me to trust my edges and get the most out of my stride as possible.
Chase Phelps
Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep School, 2nd Round Draft Pick Lumberjack’s, USHL

“On-ice with Larry is always intense and always moving.  The over speed forces me to stay constantly on my edges and the sharp mobility keeps me guessing and reacting.  He keeps me moving and my heart is being tested while I become more and more comfortable on my edges.
Alex Falconer
Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep School

“I began skating with Larry about five years ago, playing Midget Major.  Now I am in my sophomore year at Air Force Academy, NCAA DIV I.  My skating improved ten fold and he gave me an edge to get to the next level, year after year that I truly do not think I would have obtained any other way.  It was a great experience and he pushed me more than anyone else could.”
Blake Page
Air Force Academy NCAA DIV I

“Larry does not just focus on the technical aspects of the hockey game but has an extremely motivating way of mentally and physically challenging his students to be and to achieve more than they ever thought they could.  ‘You only cheat yourself’ is a phrase that I have learned from Larry during the last 10 years that I have been attending his camps and lessons.  Larry’s instruction on the technical, physical, and ever important mental part of the game has been a very important part in my overall development and consistency.”
